Fear of Flying

Hypnosis for Fear of Flying

Although it IS statistically THE safest form of travel, flying in a plane can create  alarming feelings of panic and dread.

If these responses continue to develop in your mind, you might eventually stop flying all together.  If you have had difficulty flying in the past, you may now have a conditioned response that will be difficult to overcome with rational thinking alone. However, hypnosis can be used to enable you to feel comfortable travelling by plane.

Many people assume that the main fear is an irrational belief that the plane will crash. However, if you have a fear of flying you may fear:

  • Being in a closed space
  • Turbulence
  • Crowds
  • The take off procedure
  • The landing procedure
  • Being sick
  • Being over water
  • The safety of the plane
  • The mechanics and physics of the plane
  • Being out of control
  • Embarrassing yourself
  • The competence of the pilot
  • Being far away from those you love
  • Bad weather
  • Having a panic attack
  • The height you are travelling at

By exploring your beliefs, anxieties, physical responses and memories, I can develop interventions that will  provide you with powerful new experiences, and associations so that flying can actually become comfortable and in many cases, enjoyable.
